With only 6+ weeks to go before my little girl is born, I’m still surfing. Every week it gets a bit harder as my belly grows, but the waves have been good and i’m feeling great. I probably won’t be able to keep it up much longer. I’ll be bodysurfing soon, but for now i’m standing and stoked.

wow! you are such an inspiration! i am currently 22 weeks preggo and an avid surfer. I also teach surf lessons as well. my belly just started getting big enough to make it difficult paddling. i too find that using my knees and sticking by butt up helps but getting into waves is more of a challenge. im getting discouraged but dont want to harm myself or the baby! any other advise or tips you have about surfing while preggo would be awesome! do you ever worry or have had a wave hit you right in the belly? is body boarding a better option for a bigger belly? good luck with your last week!! cant wait to see your newborn post!! thanks! Erica
Hi Holly – I’m a fellow UCSD alum. I am currently 23 weeks pregnant and watching your videos of you surf throughout your pregnancy has been such an inspiration to me! I haven’t been surfing much anymore but I plan to paddleboard until I am full-term. I am also having a little girl. Thanks for sharing your journey with us!
So awesome to see! Doctors told me to surf for my first trimester and see how it feels. I am already starting to stick my butt up when I paddle, but who cares! Once you are on your feet, it feels great!
